The venue is booked, the sponsors are signed up, all that’s needed are some eager golfers looking for fun in support of a great cause.
Renfrew’s Rotary Club is hosting a fundraising golf day in support of Renfrew TAP (Teachers Against Poverty) on Saturday, July 17 at the Renfrew Golf Club.
“We’re really excited because Rotary has always done a golf tournament but for this Rotary has partnered with TAP (Teachers Against Poverty) and every penny is going to the organization,” said Christine Jarrett, who is helping organize the event. “Rotary members felt very passionate about supporting TAP — it’s really a grass-roots organization. We know the money is literally going to help local families and kids. And the teachers are in the best position to identify those who might need a little extra help.”
Rather than a traditional golf tournament, the event is being billed as a fun golf day.
“It’s low stress. It’s really just a fun golf day. You can play nine or 18. Come on out and have fun,” she said.
Special attention has been made to supporting local businesses, as well, she noted. Wherever possible, prizes and other supplies are being purchased from local businesses.
An online auction in support of the event will begin July 3.
All skill levels are invited to join in the fun. Cost to participate is $100 for nine holes, or $120 for 18 holes. The entry fee includes golf with power cart, free range balls, bagged lunch and fun on-course games.
Tee times start at 10:30 a.m. and run until approximately 1:30 p.m.
Register your foursome here by July 5.
