Thank You all Rotarian's and Friends
We had a very successful event on Friday and Saturday. Friday we delivered 594 bacon on a bun to around 40 business with some of those as pick up. Lots of positive comments and many businesses giving us a donation as well as their payment for the sandwiches.
Saturday went smoothly with @John Yakabuski arriving to officially open the sales. Doug Ryan and I had a phone conversation with Premier Doug Ford, a Rotarian by the way. He expressed how proud he was of our club to be able to run a safe fundraiser for our community in these difficult times.
Saturday, we had a full stream of cars sometimes backed up to the far gate . The was an hour waiting times mention on Facebook with everyone happy to get their bacon on a bun.
We were sold out by 4:30 and clean up and shut down by 5:30
The Club wants to thank all volunteers, Rotarian's and non Rotarian's for the many hours of work to make this project a success.
So here are the preliminary numbers:
Profit $10,000 ($7,000 in sales and $3,000 in donations).
About 400 cars plus one horse cart drove through.
We sold out of
80 boxes of bacon
2880 buns
110 cases of pop
34 cases of water
The small amount of leftover went to the food bank
And by the end of the month the $10,000 will have been given to groups within our community, most likely the Food bank and Hospice, as part of our $30,000 commitment to groups within our community.
